May 6th, 2025
Had weather played nice with us, we would already be 5 races and 7 events through our 2025 calendar at Kingsport Speedway. But it's only May, and we're just getting started! Today we're looking down the road at races and events that you can't afford to miss at the Concrete Jungle! From major NAAPWS action, to absolute mayhem, this article is meant to be your guide, your schedule clearer, let's get into it!!!
Omnia Roofing Race Night - Friday, May 9th
As previously mentioned, April showers have definitely lived up to the name in the Tri Cities. As our first 2 events to look out for are races that have been postponed due to weather. The first one up is the one that we tried to run just a week ago as of writing this. Omnia Roofing Race Night. A strong line of thunderstorms took us by surprise on May 2nd. Freezing the race night as is until this coming Friday, May 9th. The action will resume with RCR LMSC twin 1 starting at lap 1, and going through the race day schedule. A schedule that sees the beginning of the 2025 story take shape. In Late Models; it's dominance vs. consistency as Brad Housewright and Zeke Shell fight for the points lead. Super Street points are tied between Austin Walters and Marty Tunnell. And so much more!!!! Crown Vics will be added to the end of the card despite them being the only official race from May 2nd; as they have another race to make up from April 25th. Also, a May 2nd ticket or armband gets you free pit or grandstand entry for May 9th ONLY. It's gonna be an incredible night, and it's only a few days away. Be there!!!
Lyon Metal Roofing Night - To Be Rescheduled At A Later Date
The 2nd of two races that have been put on the backburner. Lyon Metal Roofing Night was called the Thursday Morning prior to the green flag and never got off the ground. The JB Autoworks Crown Vics will make up their feature from this race on Friday, May 9th. However, that leaves six divisions and 7 (or more) races to still account for. Lyon Metal Roofing Night is set to be rescheduled at a later date. Most likely, if weather doesn't interfere with any other events, Friday, July 25th. Don't worry, the wait will be worth it. Pushing this race later in the schedule only means the championship window gets tighter. And moves from the Kingsport Speedway field get more desperate.
Tour Of Destruction - 2 DATES!!!! May 31st & October 11th
A fan favorite and smash hit in the Model City! Tour of Destruction returns to the Concrete Jungle in 2025! This time with two action packed dates. The first of which comes your way in just a few short weeks. Saturday, May 31st. If you've never seen the Tour, it's your usual county fair-affair, on steroids. Demo Derby, stunts, school bus races and so much more! If you can't make it in May, no worries. Ticket demand is so high for Tour of Destruction at the Concrete Jungle. They'll make a wrap around for a 2nd date on Saturday, October 11th to put a neat little bow on our 2025 event calendar! Funfest Night At The Races - Friday, July 18th
Fans asked, we answered. Funfest Night At The Races is back in 2025! And better yet, we get to kick it all off! Once you've enjoyed the parade downtown. Get down E. Stone Drive and John B Dennis hwy for an action packed night of racing! As the drivers of Kingsport Speedway are plunged into the teeth of the East Tennessee summer. The heat, literally and metaphorically reaches it peak. Frustrations begin to mount, cars start to feel the effects of a full season and reach their limit! And certain drivers chasing the points lead can begin to feel the Division Title slip away. When will they overheat? And will they give in? Or will they melt down? It's the biggest party of the summer! Don't miss it! Funfest Night comes your way Friday, July 18th!
South Atlantic Pro Series + Weekly Racing! - Friday, September 5th
And now for something new. A new Late Model tour emerges from the foothills of North Carolina! The South Atlantic Pro Series - A brand new pro late model tour embarking on its inaugural season in 2025! By the grace of God and 630hp, the SAPS Pro Late Models will challenge the Concrete Jungle. A track that's built a reputation of being "too hard to drive" with other Carolina late model tours. Will the emerging stars of the SAPS Tour be up for such a challenge? Even Kingsport Speedway legend and 2024 King of The Jungle winner Lee Tissot will be in the field!
And to make it more crucial for you to be there, it's the penultimate night of the season! One more race before Championship Night, if you plan on cementing your legacy on Sep. 19th. You've got to make your move on Sep. 5th! You can't win the championship on this night, but you can sure as heck lose it. September 5th is a night that is can't miss in 2025!

The drifting showcase is TBD, but we'll let you know as soon as there's more info! King of The Jungle issues it's challenge to any Late Model driver who accepts. Saturday, October 4th.
